SURGE

A split-second hallucination stretched over an hour-long choreographed dream.

SURGE evolves around the story of a near-death experience, exploring the fragmented memories and the distorted perception of time in the context of an imaginary club. The performance begins with the electrocution of the protagonist, plunging him into a series of memories gathering his circle of friends, leading the spectator into a journey recounting his clubbing nights, until the encounter with death, represented by a graceful raven, which he defies with a sensual and intense dance. The use of movement, sound and light, as a perfect synchronicity between the three mediums, creates a meaningful connection where the mind and the body of the performer as of the audience member is coordinated, attached to the present action and constantly stimulated. SURGE aims to embark the viewer into a benevolent trip, where timing is the key to the letting go off the clock ticking reminder.
