Tamara is a choreographer and performer whose work is driven by a continuous
exploration of how the body negotiates its place within space.
Her creative process is rooted in a deep, ongoing self-inquiry on how does the body position itself, adapt, and transform in a world where self-legitimization is paramount.
Through her movement, she seeks to transcend ego and judgment, immersing
the dancer in a spectrum of physical experiences: from fluidity to abruptness,
from trance to repetition, from primal instincts to architectural precision.
In recent years, Tamara's work has been increasingly shaped by mathematics
and geometry, crafting pieces that follow precise, mathematical structures. These
works explore the body’s relationship to space through a choreographic lens that
blends art and science, where form and movement are articulated in geometric
patterns and coordinates. In her work, time becomes tangible; the past, present,
and future converge, shaping movement and driving transformation. Tamara’s
choreography invites the audience into a dynamic experience where every
moment is a negotiation of space and self.
Born in Serbia, raised in Switzerland, and educated in London, Tamara is based
in Brussels. Her artistic journey has been profoundly shaped by her
collaborations with figures such as Rosemary Butcher, Simon Vincenzi, Franck
Chartier & Gabriela Carrizo (Peeping Tom), and Tabea Martin.
Since 2022, she takes a close interest in the synchronisation between light, movement and sound with a series of works where the three mediums collide.
In parallel with her creative practice, she also conducts research on the « ma », the Japanese concept, in the field of dance through her teaching, performances and creations. She is regularly invited around the world as a speaker and trainer for actors and professional dancers in contemporary dance and performance and as a movement director for films.
Tamara also leads Le Facteur, a platform for collaboration that brings together
creators from across disciplines to explore hybrid performance formats. Based in
Switzerland, the structure Le Facteur reflects on the relationships between body,
sensory experience, language, and matter. Together, the artists involved in Le
Facteur develop work that challenges and expands the boundaries of
contemporary dance and experimental music.
