What counts is not what is made of us, but what we make of what has been made of us. Jean-Paul Sartre, Saint Genet, actor and martyr
ROSE ARMOR transports you into the captivating effervescence of a world, where total immersion in music, light, and dance unleashes the deepest impulses. Four dancers delve into the twists and turns of
desires and utopias, weaving a narrative intimately linked to alternative cultures of the past.
Inspired by the struggles and aspirations of today's and tomorrow's youth, ROSE ARMOR casts a sharp eye on our era, reminding us of the
urgent fury to create the worlds that unite us.
Seven, Lev, Blue, and Joy paint the portrait of a youth caught between desire and desolation. Situated in an indefinite temporality but inundated with reminiscences of the rave and proletarian culture of the turn of the century, they give shape to the anxieties, violence, and injustices faced by all youth, and they seize the means available to them - whether rebellion or escapism - to redefine the parameters of possible liberation. Whether through subversive acts of hacking, the rigorous and obsessive discipline of sports practice, the hedonism of raves and the euphoria of substances, or the exploration of taboo desires, they all seek to break free from the chains of conformity.
In this determined challenge against norms and social classes, they are their own scouts, allies, and pioneers. Their story is that of the children of counterculture; it evokes all the thirst for deconstruction, conquest, and freedom inherent to pre-adult age and reminds us that at pivotal moments, anything is still possible.
